Who We Are
What makes Qventive different, structurally.
Most healthcare IT firms have non-healthcare revenue. Even those marketed as “healthcare-focused” typically have 20-40% of their book in other industries — it’s more commercially convenient. But every non-healthcare client means engineering attention divides across workflows that don’t teach clinical vocabulary. Over time, the team’s fluency erodes. The marketing stays healthcare-focused; the reality doesn’t.
Qventive has held the exclusivity line for 30+ years. That’s structural, not aspirational. Every engineer on our staff has only worked inside medical practices — never a retail rollout, never a legal firm migration, never a generic SMB help desk. It’s why when your office manager calls about a Valant template issue or a MIPS measure showing zero, the engineer who picks up already knows what to check.
Our leadership remains directly engaged — Steve Gerbino (Founder & CEO), Raul Yas (COO), John Dritsas (CTO), Joe Gerbino (CFO), and Joy DeMario (VP of Finance). The person who conducts your assessment is the person still involved in your engagement 5, 10, 15 years later.
Our Story
From a Hackensack Office to Northern NJ’s Healthcare IT Partner
Most IT companies that “do healthcare” started elsewhere — retail, finance, legal — then added a healthcare vertical when the market looked lucrative. Qventive started in healthcare and stayed.
1994
Founded as Innovative Computer Systems
Steve Gerbino opens a healthcare IT consultancy in Hackensack, NJ. The commitment: medical practices only. No side verticals. No distractions.
Early 2000s
The EHR Adoption Wave
As practices shifted from paper to electronic records, the team expanded to support Epic, NextGen, Allscripts, and eClinicalWorks. The observation-based methodology that would become Observe-Improve-Prevent was born — from watching how physicians interact with their EHR during actual patient encounters.
2010s
Cybersecurity Becomes Non-Negotiable
Ransomware attacks began targeting healthcare at record rates. The team built a dedicated cybersecurity practice — HIPAA risk assessments, managed threat detection, and 24/7 monitoring. The EHR Assist Interface was developed during this era.
2021
Rebrand to Qventive Healthcare
The rebrand to Qventive Healthcare reflects expanded capabilities while honoring the same healthcare-exclusive DNA.

Our Mission
Translate Technology Into Patient Care Time
Every minute a physician spends fighting a frozen EHR, waiting on hold with an IT vendor who doesn’t understand clinical workflows, or hand-entering data that should transfer automatically — that’s a minute taken from patients.
Qventive’s job is to give that time back. EHRs that match how you actually practice. Networks that stay up during peak hours. Security that runs without disrupting anyone. Compliance that stays current without consuming your office manager’s entire week.
The tools have changed since 1994. The regulatory landscape — MIPS, HIPAA, NIST frameworks, 42 CFR Part 2 — has grown exponentially. But the mission hasn’t moved: keep technology invisible so physicians can focus on medicine.
